Editorial Contributions and Commercial Proposals Are Reviewed Separately
Tell us which type of request you are sending. Clear disclosure protects contributors, readers and the independence of our reviews.
For independent writers and knowledgeable contributors
Pitch an original article that answers a real reader question. Unsolicited contributions are not paid. Accepted editorial articles receive a named byline and may include one relevant author or portfolio link after review.
For brands, agencies, sponsored ideas and gifted products
Identify the commercial relationship in your subject line and pitch. Payment does not guarantee publication, a positive verdict or a link that passes ranking credit. Paid links are marked sponsored or nofollow.
Email a Commercial ProposalWe Want Work Our Readers Would Value Without the Author Link
Before pitching, read our editorial policy and look through recent Hair Is Curly articles .
A strong pitch usually has
- One specific reader problem and a clear angle
- Relevant professional knowledge, firsthand experience or original reporting
- Reliable sources for medical, scientific and safety claims
- Useful limitations, tradeoffs or comparison points
- Original photographs or other evidence when claiming firsthand results
We are unlikely to accept
- Generic lifestyle topics with no clear hair or beauty connection
- Press releases, product descriptions or disguised advertising
- Copied, lightly rewritten or bulk-generated articles
- Medical treatment advice without suitable expertise and evidence
- Pitches created mainly to place an unrelated or keyword-rich backlink

Pitch work created for Hair Is Curly. The named author must personally review every claim and recommendation.
Experience described honestly
Tell us whether you tested, professionally observed, interviewed or researched the subject. Never invent a result or client story.
Claims supported properly
Use primary research, government guidance or recognized professional organizations for medical, scientific and safety claims.
Clear and useful writing
Answer the main question early. Use headings, lists and tables only where they make the answer easier to understand.
Visible disclosure

Images used with permission
Send only original or properly licensed visuals. Identify illustrative or generated images so they cannot be mistaken for real results.
Show how you reached the verdict
A firsthand review and a researched product assessment are different. Tell us which one you are proposing.
- State how long, how often and on which hair or skin type a product was used.
- Include price, size, important ingredients, application and realistic limitations.

We may edit structure, wording, claims, images and links for accuracy, clarity and consistency with our standards.
A relevant profile link

Before You Email the Editorial Team
How do I submit a guest post to Hair Is Curly?
Email one working title, a short outline, your relevant experience and two writing samples to editorial@hairiscurly.com . Pitch the idea before sending a completed article.
Do you pay guest contributors?
We do not currently pay for unsolicited editorial contributions. Any commissioned assignment would be agreed in writing before work begins.
Do I need professional credentials?
Not for every subject. Styling inspiration or an honest product-use article may rely on demonstrated experience. Medical, scalp, nutrition and treatment claims require suitable qualifications and strong evidence.
Can writing tools or AI be used?
Tools may assist with organization or proofreading, but the named author remains responsible for the work. We reject fabricated experience, unsupported claims, copied material and bulk-generated drafts that add no original value.
What article length do you prefer?
There is no automatic word target. Cover the reader’s question completely and stop when the useful answer is finished. Focus and evidence matter more than length.
Can I include a link to my website or client?
Editorial contributors may suggest one relevant author or portfolio link. Final links, anchor text and qualification remain editorial decisions. Paid or sponsored links do not pass ranking credit.
Can the article appear somewhere else?
Accepted articles must be original and exclusive to Hair Is Curly unless we approve another arrangement in writing. Publication and reuse terms are confirmed after a pitch is accepted.
Do you consider sponsored posts or brand proposals?
We consider relevant commercial proposals separately. Put Commercial Proposal in the subject line and disclose the brand, client, payment or free product. Sponsorship does not buy a positive verdict or an unqualified link.
